ویلیام شباس

ویلیام شباس، پرفسور حقوق جنائی و حقوق بشر و رئیس مرکز حقوق بشر ایرلند در دانشگاه ملی گالوی ایرلند است. وی نویسنده بیست کتاب در زمینه حقوقی، از جمله “لغو اعدام”، “نسل کشی در حقوق بین الملل” و “اعدام به مثابه شکنجه و رفتار بیرحمانه” است. ویلیام شباس، رئیس انجمن بین المللی حقوق پژوهشگران نسل کشی، رئیس شعبه ایرلندی انجمن حقوق بین الملل و موسسه بین المللی تحقیقات جنائی است. وی، یکی از سه عضو جهانی کمیسیون حقیقت یاب و آشتی سیرلانکا بوده است. ویلیام شباس، استاد حقوق دانشگاه میدلسکس در لندن است.

Professor William A. Schabas (Irland) Professor of human rights law and criminal law. Professor William A. Schabas is the Chairman of the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University of Ireland, Galway. Schabas is the author of twenty-one books dealing in whole or in part with international human rights law, including The International Criminal Court: A Commentary on the Rome Statute , Introduction to the International Criminal Court, Genocide in International Law, The Abolition of the Death Penalty in International, International Human Rights, The Death Penalty as Cruel Treatment and Torture. He is President of the International Association of Genocide Scholars, President of the Irish Branch of the International Law Association and chair of the International Institute for Criminal Investigation. He served as one of three international members of the Sierra Leone Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
