Mother Golbas Salajegheh (Mother Amirshekari)

Mother Golbas Salajegheh, Mother Amirshekari, was born in Kerman on 2 Farvardin 1308 (22 March 1929) and died in Kerman on Friday, 29 Dey 1397 (19 Jan. 2019).

Mother Amirshekari was a kind, courageous and steadfast mother, a justice-seeker and had influence on the justice-seeking movement in Iran. Whenever she was in Tehran, she would always be with the Khavaran Mothers and families. Mother Amirshekari lost her husband in 1346 (1967) and raised her children alone with hope in their future. Mother Amirshekari´s three sons, Ali, Saeid,  Hamid were executed by the Islamic regime of Iran in 1980s. Her son-in-law, Jafar Riahi, the husband of Farideh Amirshekari was also executed by the Islamic regime in Shahrivar 1367 (Aug.-Sep. 1988) in Gohardasht Prison during the mass killings of political prisoners in Gohardasht prison.

Mother Amirshekari had a brain stroke on 20 Mordad 1396 (11 Aug. 2017). She recovered to a large extent but suffered from a heart attack on 29 Dey 1397 (19 Jan. 2019) and a half hour later died in the hospital. Her kind heart, which had become weak after years of suffering, stopped beating.

Hamid, Mother Amirshekari’s elder son, was killed on 22 Khordad 1362 (12 June 1983) in a skirmishe with the agents of the Islamic regime in the village of Ashi Kalan in the suburbs of Bukan in Kurdistan. The news of Hamid’s death was broadcast by BBC. Acceptance of Hamid’s death was hard for Mother. She thought that the news of his death may not be accurate. For that reason she set out for Kurdistan to find Hamid. When Mother arrived at the village of Khankhah, she knocked the doors of house after house, showing Hamid’s photograph to villagers. One of the villagers knew Hamid. He told Mother that her son had been severely injured as shrapnel had hit Hamid. They had brought him to his house but could not save his life. They had buried Hamid secretly. He took Mother to Hamid’s grave but she could not accept the fact that she had lost Hamid. For that reason she set out for Sulemanieh in the Iraqi Kurdistan. The organization for which Hamid worked confirmed his death. From that time onwards Mother visited each year the village of Khankhah in Kurdistan, where Hamid was buried, on the anniversary of Hamid’s death, after suffering a great deal of hardships. Saeed, the second son of Mother Amirshekari, was assassinated by the agents of the Islamic republic in Kerman in Mordad 1358 (July-Aug. 1979). Ali, the youngest son of Mother Amirshekari, was executed by the Islamic regime in Shahrivar 1358 (Aug.-Sep. 1979) in Kerman.

Hamid Mirshekari

Hamid was born in Kerman on 02 Mehr 1330 (25 Sep. 1951). After the revolution he joined the Organization of People´s Fadai Guerrillas. After that he became politically active in relation to Organization of People´s Fadai Guerrillas, he killed in skirmishes with the agents of the Islamic regime in the Village of Ashi Kalan in the suburbs of Bukan in Kurdistan on 22 Khordad 1360 (12 June 1981).  The villagers buried his body in the village of Khankhah in secret.

Saeed Amirshekari

Saeed was born in Kerman on 01 Esfand 1335 (21 Jan. 1957). He had a bookstore in the city of Pabdana, Kerman. The regime’s agents set his bookstore on fire before arresting him on 18 Mordad 1358 (09 Aug. 1979). Saeed was released on 23 Mordad 1358 (14 Aug. 1979). Four days after his release from the prison, the agents of the Islamic regime assassinated him on the Bagherabad Road, Kerman, on 27 Mordad, 1358 (18 Aug. 1979). Saeed was a political activist associated with the Organization of People´s Fadai Guerrillas during the Shah’s regime as well and was a student of Humanities at the Tehran University until he went underground.

Ali Amirshekari

Ali was born in Kerman on 02 Esfand 1337 (21 Feb. 1959). After the revolution, while he was studying at the university in the field of electricity, Ali joined the Sazman-e Daneshjouyan Pishgam (Organisation of Progressive Students) affiliated to the Organization of People´s Fadai Guerrillas. Ali was arrested by the Islamic regime in Kerman on 27 Mordad 1358 (18 Aug. 1979). Six days later, on 01 Shahrivar 1358 (23 Aug. 1979) , he was executed by the firing squad in the prison in Kerman at the age of 19 years.

Jafar Riahi

Jafar, the son-in-law of Mother Amirshekari, was born in Tehran on 15 Mordad 1330 (07 Aug. 1951). He, together with his brother Mohammad Sadegh, was executed in the Gohardasht Prison in Shahrivar 1367 (Aug.-Sep. 1988) during the mass execution of political prisoners. Thier bodies were buried in one of the mass graves of the Khavaran Cemetery. Jafar and Mohammad Sadegh were active members of the Rah-e Kargar Organisatin. Their brother Ali was arrested on 13 Mehr 1360 (05 Oct. 1981) in relation to Organization of People´s Fadai Guerrillas and was executed in Evin Prison on 20 Bahman 1360 (09 Feb. 1982). Jafar was an Engineer in Geology but he worked as a welder until before his arrest. He had a 12-year sentence of imprisonment but the Islamic regime hanged him in the summer of 1367 (1988) During mass eexecution of political prisoners in Gohardasht Prison. Mohammad Sadegh had a four-year sentence of imprisonment and he was supposed to be released from the prison in Azar 1367 (Nov.-Dec. 1988) but the Islamic regime hanged him in the summer of 1988 in the Gohardasht Prison.
